This chapter focuses on this idea (or using well) and explores how can be conceptualised, involves practice, supported. It draws findings emerging from a five-year study Australian schools, which involved systematic review international surveys interviews with over 900 educators. The presented provide frame current approaches supporting work overall highlights value practitioner perspectives need for more education.

Basic Research and Implications for Educational Practice
A powerful way of improving one’s memory for material is to be tested on that material. Tests enhance later retention more than additional study of the material, even when tests are given without feedback. This surprising phenomenon is called the testing effect, and although it has been studied by cognitive psychologists sporadically over the years, today there is a renewed effort to learn why ...

Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is a statistical approach to testing hypothesis about the relationships among observed and latent variables. The use of SEM in research has increased in psychology, sociology, and economics in recent years. In particular educational researchers try to obtain the complete image of the process of education through the measurement of personality differences, lear...

متن کاملUsing Regression Mixture Analysis in Educational Research
Conventional regression analysis is typically used in educational research. Usually such an analysis implicitly assumes that a common set of regression parameter estimates captures the population characteristics represented in the sample. In some situations, however, this implicit assumption may not be realistic, and the sample may contain several subpopulations such as high math achievers and ...
